Perhaps (this is a loose theory) young Mono even trusted Six enough to be vulnerable, and showing his face when going to the Signal Tower to rescue her. Mono was sick of the world hating him, and willing to risk everything for his friend. If Thin Man becomes aware of the time loops, perhaps he's also upset that Six didn't learn to trust him for who he really is. He goes and tries to kidnap Six to bring her back to the Signal Tower. And he eventually becomes obsessed about Six. Being the single-minded person he is, and trapped, Mono ruminates about the traumatic situation.Perhaps he is not just searching for Six, but also for companionship to block out his fear of being alone. I think the Signal Tower corrupts him long enough for him to forget, or become confused about the initial reasons he warps around Pale City, since he is always searching for "something", not something defined. However, like in case of Shadow!Six, his powers end up leaving the Glitching Remains behind. Perhaps he is lonely and the adults in LN aren't very pleasant company, so perhaps, with the mindset of a young Mono, he thinks he can "befriend" other children, even if he's ultimately stuck in the Signal Tower. In the comics, we also see Thin Man kidnap children for unknown reasons.
